On December 11, during an event held at the performance car makers British headquarters, the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition smartphone was officially unveiled.
The main design highlight of this limited edition is the new ‘Papaya Orange’ signature McLaren colour wrapping around the bottom edge of the phone, and the McLaren logo also sits on the back of the phone. The back has also a mild touch of carbon fiber like pattern under the rear glass.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren edition comes with 10 GB of RAM, The external RAM will further fasten up multitasking and uploading speed, but it does not show any significant boost in real life usage.
Also this special edition phone comes with new fast charging Technology known as the warp charge 30, replacing the dash charge. OnePlus claims that the new technology can give you a days power in just 20 minutes. The charging time is less compared to the dash charge takes about 30 minutes. This new warp charge is 38% faster than dash charge. The 30 in the name refers to the 30 Watt’s of power which will flow into the handset while charging.
OnePlus is not the first brand to collaborate with an Automotive brand for a limited edition. We know Blackberry’s Porsche design, Huawei’s porsche design and oppos Lamborghini edition, But the OnePlus 6T is relatively more affordable compared to the other two. You will also get the McLaren speedmark logo made of the same Carbon fibre of the firm’s F1 car in the special presentation box.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren edition is available in India at Rs 50,999, Which is Rs 5000 more than the 8GB +256 GB top spec configuration of the standard OnePlus 6T.
